The best and brightest of this past week in music, as well as a throwback track! Hopefully you can bump these on the way to work to brighten up your Monday mornings! Make sure to check out our SoundCloud page where we post all the songs of the week.

FINALLY. We finally get a new Kendrick song after nearly 2 years of just features, and there weren’t even too many of those. This is a very positive and uplifting song ala Happy. But Kendrick still gets busy and spits some dope bars. Expect to hear this for the next few months on the radio. Look for his sophomore album to drop late this year or early 2015

DJ Drama dropped this chestnuts roasting over an open fire flames track that features Thugger, Jeezy, and Rich Homie Quan. This could’ve been song of the summer if released a few months earlier. Nevertheless, this shit still bangs and expect Quality Street Music 2 to drop soon.

The latest leak from Juicy J’s next album: The Hustle Continues is this banger featuring Future, Ferg and production from Mike Will Made-It. All three contribute great verses, and expect to hear this song at your nearest club real soon.

This conscious track originally dropped a few months back on Common’s most recent album Nobody’s Smiling, you can read the review of that album here. It was an awesome track when it dropped, but the mysterious yet unbelievably talented Jay Electronica just added his two cents to this song with a verse of his own for the official remix.

This dude kinda came out of nowhere and has recently been seen with Kanye a ton and apparently is on the single for Ye’s 7th solo. This track is about him tryna fuck a girl who is a lesbian, deep stuff. Expect his album Vibes to come out November 4th.

Joey Bada$$ has been pretty quiet lately, but he snaps on this track which is another release from his debut studio album B4.DA.$$

Didn’t Eminem and Drake teach you, don’t write off white and Jewish rappers. Lil Dicky certainly is no Em and Drizzy, but it is really an apple and oranges situation (if oranges could spit bars that were absolutely hilarious).

THROWBACK

One of my favorite hip hop songs of all time featuring one of, if not the, best hip hop group: A Tribe Called Quest. Also this was kind of the world’s first introduction to Busta Rhymes and he spits one of his best verses of his career. Such an amazing song
